Abstract 3068 Control of host lipids, a critical determinant of infection outcomes
Host lipids and their metabolic pathways play pivotal roles in bacterial pathogenesis, serving as resources for both critical expansion and maintenance of pathogen replication vacuole integrity, which protects against recognition by host surveillance systems, and bacterial growth. Through competition for control over this pivotal resource, both the pathogen and the host define a gradient of available lipids that determine infection outcomes.
