Abstract 1277 Blood levels of glucagon like 1 peptide in the course of acute myocardial in patients: A possible clinical significance
Introduction: Ischemic heart disease is the most killing disease worldwide. Glucagon like1 peptide (GL1P) is a 30 amino acids incretin gut derived peptide hormone with numerous physiological actions. Several experimental evidence suggests it may sustain or hold cardiomyocytes at viable level. It has been shown to reduced size of ischemic zone in rat heart after myocardial ischemia/reperfusion [1, 2, 3]. Objective: The aim of the study was to determine the time course of GL1P levels in the plasma of MI patients over 12 hours compared to healthy individuals as control.
