Abstract 2771 Lipid fluxes and storage in lipid droplets
Lipid droplets (LDs) are the primary organelles responsible for regulating cellular energy metabolism, dynamically storing and releasing lipids. These processes involve significant lipid fluxes, the mechanisms of which remain incompletely understood. Many lipid transport proteins (LTPs) have been found to associate with LDs, but their specific functions are largely unknown. Evidence suggests that some LTPs play a role in extracting lipids from LDs during catabolic states. However, whether LTPs also deliver lipids to LDs during anabolic states, such as during LD biogenesis, is less well understood.
