Abstract 2236 Epi-Transcriptome Dynamics of Common Host Response Mechanisms Support the Development of Broad Antiviral Therapies

Discovery of key host molecular mechanisms that support replication of virus species from different taxonomic families can lead to novel, broadly acting medical countermeasures for emerging threats. We have developed experimental and computational analytical workflow for identification of chemical modifications on transcripts and proteins in the host cells associated with rapid response to infections with various virus species, including Alphacoronavirus,Orthopoxvirus, and Mimivirus. We focused on N6-methyladenosine (m6A) internal RNA modifications affecting multiple biological processes, including innate immune responses.
