Abstract 2756 Mapping outer mitochondrial membrane epitopes for rapid immunocapture of mitochondria from tissues
Mitochondria are essential organelles in virtually all eukaryotes, contributing to key cellular functions such as metabolism, redox homeostasis, and apoptosis. The study of mitochondrial biology has greatly benefited from the efficient enrichment of these organelles from cells and tissues and their use in in-vitro experiments. Traditionally, mitochondrial isolation is achieved through common centrifugation techniques, which have recently been supplemented by immunocapture methods targeting outer mitochondrial membrane epitopes.
