Abstract 2828 Developing methods for proteomic profiling of brain microglia cells
Microglial cells are the innate immune cells of the central nervous system and play a crucial role in maintaining brain health. Microglial dysfunctions are associated with neuroinflammatory and neurodegenerative disorders. For instance, genetic variants that disrupt microglial responses to Alzheimer's disease (AD) pathology are linked to increased AD risk. While microglial transcriptomic changes in neuroinflammatory and neurodegenerative conditions are well characterized, microglial proteomic responses to diverse conditions are not widely studied.
