Abstract 1305 Novel roles for lamellipodin in ECM stiffness-mediated mechanotransduction using RNA sequencing and bioinformatics analysis
Extracellular matrix (ECM) stiffness serves as a key regulator of cell function and dynamics, regulating behaviors like migration, proliferation, and differentiation. Mechanotransduction describes the conversion of ECM stiffness at the cell membrane into transcriptional changes inside the nucleus, ultimately fine-tuning the cell's response to its external environment. We recently identified lamellipodin (Lpd), a well-characterized protein in cell motility, as a critical downstream modulator of stiffness-mediated mechanotransduction, particularly impacting cell cycling and proliferation.
