Abstract 2278 Investigation of acetylation-mediated protein degradation in hepatocellular carcinoma
The regulation of protein degradation primarily occurs through the facilitation or hindrance of protein-protein interactions between the protein targeted for degradation and proteins responsible for recruiting targets to ubiquitination machinery. These interactions are often controlled by post-translational modifications (PTMs) which, through their own regulation via “writer” and “eraser” enzymatic activity, allow cell signaling to fine-tune protein degradation to fit the cell's spatial, temporal, and environmental needs.
