Abstract 1397 Consistent STEM Exposure Drives Girls' Career Exploration and Builds STEM Confidence
Science Research Program provides a unique opportunity for underrepresented, low-income, and first-generation high school students to engage in scientific research. In 2024, the program supported 10 students, with eight representing historically marginalized groups, including women, African-American students, first-generation college students, and those from low-income backgrounds.Over the course of three weeks, students collaborated with faculty and EMU student mentors on original research projects and presented their findings at a local poster session. The program offered mentorship, hands-on training in lab techniques, careerbuilding workshops, and daily lunches to ensure accessibility for all participants.Pre-
