Abstract 1245 Resveratrol a Novel Therapeutic Agent against Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumors
Pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (pNETs) are rare slow growing cancers of the pancreas that are aggressive and deadly. Surgical resection is still the only curative therapeutic option for localized pNETs. Recurrence is however common and such patients progress towards highly aggressive disease with poor prognosis. We propose that non-toxic drugs that can restrict tumor recurrence and progression without impacting the overall quality of life could be ideal form of therapy for pNET patients who often live symptomless for extended periods of time.
