Abstract 2428 Change in Gut Microbiome Composition and Decrease in Blood Lipopolysaccharide (LPS) Levels After a Short-Term Pesco-Vegetarian Diet Intervention

While the positive health impacts of plant-based diet have been well-documented, the exact mechanisms of actions have not been thoroughly studied. For example, their impacts on gut microbiome and interactions with various food items remain largely unknown. As a part of an evidence-based community health improvement program through promoting a healthy pesco-vegetarian diet, we investigate the impacts of diet on participant's health metrics and gut microbiota. Healthy adult participants between the ages of 18 and 45 were recruited to partake in pesco-vegetarian diet for a period of one week.
