Abstract 2829 Exploring mechanisms of Vitamin C and ROS-Activated Prodrugs for Targeted and Selective Tumor Killing
The complex nature of cancer and the limited efficacy and selectivity of single-agent therapies underscore the need for more targeted treatments with minimal side effects. This study investigates a novel combination therapy using vitamin C and a reactive oxygen species (ROS)-activated nitrogen mustard prodrug to enhance tumor selectivity and promote durable cancer cell death. The objective was to explore the synergistic effects of this combination in amplifying oxidative stress, sensitizing cancer cells, and activating prodrugs to release alkylating agents, which further increase ROS and induce DNA damage.
