Abstract 1771 Untargeted lipidomics reveals age-associated lipidomic shifts in the mouse ovary across the lifespan
Background: Ovarian aging is characterized by the natural decline in ovarian function with age, manifested in reduced oocyte quantity and quality, as well as increased tissue fibrosis. Emerging evidence highlights lipids as critical contributors to age-related changes, altering membrane integrity, signaling pathways, and inflammatory responses. Despite their importance, ovarian aging research has predominantly focused on transcriptomics, leaving the role of lipids underexplored. This study employs untargeted lipidomics to investigate and characterize lipid alterations across the mouse ovarian lifespan, hypothesizing that age-associated changes are reflected in specific lipid signatures and that these changes impact ovarian function.
