Abstract 1387 Super-resolution live microscopy reveals STIM1 misregulation as a converging mechanism for Tau and TDP-43 mutations in Frontotemporal Dementia
Iron is an essential micronutrient for plants, but in excess it can prove toxic via the production of reactive oxygen species. Thus, the acquisition and localization of iron must be highly regulated. On a subcellular level, iron concentration within organelles can be regulated by transporters. In Arabidopsis thaliana, Ferroportin 3 (FPN3) has been identified as a dual-targeted iron exporter found in mitochondria and chloroplasts. The objective of this study is to investigate FPN3's role in the mitigation of oxidative stress.
