Abstract 2806 Structural Analysis of the Hazara Virus RNA Promoter
The Crimean-Congo Haemorrhagic Fever Virus (CCHFV) is a tick-borne virus capable of tick-human, tick-livestock, human-human and livestock-human vectored transmission. CCHFV is endemic throughout the Middle East, Southeast Europe, Africa and various regions within Asia with regions of potential infectivity spreading as global warming makes colder regions habitable for the hyalomma tick. This virus is of particular importance to the United States Military due to its high mortality rates (10-40%), lack of effective therapeutics, and prevalence in regions of military importance.
