Abstract 2381 Nutrient-responsive RNA processing as a potential mediator of mitochondrial metabolism
The crosstalk between mitochondria and the nucleus is essential for cellular energy metabolism. Nuclear-encoded mitochondrial respiratory subunits form the bulk of the electron transport chain (ETC), highlighting the need for precise coordination between these organelles. RNA processing and transport have emerged as an important mediator for interorganellar communication in this regulatory interplay. Caloric restriction (CR) extends healthspan and lifespan in numerous model organisms through extensive metabolic adaptations driven by transcriptional remodeling.
