Abstract 2710 Adipocyte Herogeneity in White Adipose Tissue
White adipose tissue (WAT) plays a critical role in systemic energy homeostasis by rapidly storing and mobilizing energy metabolites in response to stimuli such as feeding and fasting. Adipocytes, the primary cells in WAT, utilize nutrients like glucose and lipids to maintain this balance. Recent single-cell transcriptomic analyses have revealed the existence of adipocyte subpopulations. However, it remains unclear whether these subpopulations represent distinct functional cell types or merely different states of the same cells.
