Bio Synthesis of Silver Nanoparticle using Reseda Lutea Water Extract and Estimating their Anti-Cancer Impact
Background: silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) have been the idea of much research over the going few years. The primary factors contributing to AgNPs' superiority over bulk forms are their size, shape, composition, crystallinity, and structure. Methods: Reseda lutea plant seed extract has been used as a reducing agent to deduct Ag+1 in AgNO3 to Ag0 and synthesize nanoparticles. After studying the qualitative phytochemical compounds of reseda lutea, the generated AgNPs were characterized by UV-VIS, AFM, XRD, and SEM-EDX to identify the nanoparticle size and morphology. The synthesized AgNPs were going to experiment with their antioxidant activity by DPPH and their cytotoxic activity against Hela cell line. Results: The use of UV-VIS, AFM, XRD, and SEM-EDX ensures the synthesis of AgNPs with a size between 20-100 nm with little aggregation and spherical crystalline morphology. The antioxidant activity of AgNPs shows an IC50%= 108 µg\ml, and the cytotoxicity of AgNPs against Hela cell shows a time and concentration-dependent activity with an IC50%= 748.73 µg/ml 440,41 µg/ml in 24 hour and 72 hours respectively. Conclusion: The results obtained in this work approve the synthesis of AgNPs by reseda lutea and show the ability of AgNPs to work as an antioxidant and anti-carcinogenic agent against Hela cell lines. Overall, the findings highlight AgNPs' potential as a dual-functioning drug with antioxidant and anti-cancer characteristics. More research is needed to investigate their efficacy and safety characteristics for possible future applications in cancer treatment.
