Abstract 2598 Modelling TET2-DNA Complex Formation
DNA methylation is an epigenetic modification that is involved in processes such as gene regulation and embryo development, and often occurs at CpG residues creating 5-methylcytosine (5mC). The ten-eleven translocation 2 (TET2) protein is part of a family of TET proteins, which are involved in modifying DNA by oxidizing 5mC into 5-hydroxymethyl. Loss of TET2 function has been associated with myeloid leukemia. Therefore, understanding the mechanism of TET2-DNA complex formation can provide insight into the changes that lead to disease.
