Abstract 2340 Bioinformatics Analysis Suggests That The Protein SE_1780 from Staphylococcus epidermidis Is a Lipase belonging to the Fph Family of proteins

The Protein Databank entry for protein SE_1780 from Staphylococcus epidermidis (PDB ID 3FLE) lists the function as unknown. The protein contains 289 residues and is composed of a central beta sheet surrounded by a collection of alpha helices. The beta sheet is comprised of a total of eight beta strands, with seven strands arranged parallel to each other, while the remaining strand (β3), located at the leading edge of the sheet, runs anti-parallel to the rest. Of the seven alpha-helices five are located on one face of the sheet and two on the other.
