Abstract 1078 Mitochondrial Transfer Between eGFPPhalloidinCellTrace-tagged AAV6-Transfected Cells and Stressed Cells
Purpose: Mitochondrial transfer is a process by which energy producing organelles can be exchanged between cells. Such transfer is notable for enhancing cellular recovery, especially in response to stressors. This project investigates the mitochondrial transfer between eGFPPhalloidinCellTrace-tagged Adeno-Associated Virus Type 6 (AAV6) infected Immortalized Human Corneal Limbal Epithelial (IHCLE) donor cells and stressed IHCLE recipient cells. Methods: The tagged AAV6-transfected donor IHCLE cells label mitochondria and allow for mitochondrial transfer to be quantified.
