Abstract 1770 Structural Characterization of Small Molecule Inhibitors with Influenza A Hemagglutinin
Influenza A virus infection (flu) remains a major global health threat, affecting millions of individuals annually and resulting in significant morbidity and mortality. Currently, there is no FDA-approved small-molecule antiviral drug that specifically targets the influenza hemagglutinin (HA) glycoprotein, a critical protein for receptor binding, viral entry, and fusion with the host cell. Despite extensive structural characterization of HA and validation of the conserved stem domain pockets as druggable hotspots, only a limited number of small-molecule inhibitors and ligand scaffolds with high inhibitory activity have been identified to date.
