Abstract 1184 Design and synthesis of a library of fluorescein-based fluorogenic carbonates for human carboxylesterase structure-activity relationship (SAR) studies
Human carboxylesterases (CESs) play a major role in the metabolism of many drugs, however, existing tools to study CES1, one of the two forms of CESs, are plagued by various limitations. To address these issues, we have previously developed a fluorescein-based fluorogenic carbonate chemical tool (FCP-1) and demonstrated that FCP-1 can report on CES1 activity in live cells. The aim of the current study is to improve specificity for CES1 by determining a structure-activity relationship (SAR) of fluorogenic carbonates.
