Abstract 1967 Exploring the role of oxidative stress in chronic vulvar pain
Objective To investigate the role of oxidative stress in localized provoked vulvodynia (LPV) to elucidate the underlying molecular mechanisms that influence this condition. Introduction Vulvodynia is a chronic vulvar pain disorder affecting approximately 14 million women in the United States. One of the most common subtypes is localized provoked vulvodynia (LPV). LPV is characterized by localized vulvar vestibular pain caused by sensitivity to typically non-painful stimuli (allodynia), which significantly affects the quality of life in reproductive-aged women.
