Abstract 2483 The Mitochondrial Antiviral Signaling (MAVS) Protein Regulates Vascular Immune Signaling and Metabolism During Systemic Inflammation
Background: Excessive inflammation can severely damage the lung vascular endothelium, leading to life-threatening conditions such as acute lung injury (ALI) or acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). Key pathogenic mechanisms involve widespread inflammatory activation, increased endothelial cell (EC) permeability, and the formation of lung edema. Gaining insight into the molecular mediators driving inflammation and endothelial barrier disruption could pave the way for innovative treatments targeting vascular injury.
