Abstract 2659 Peptidase-controlled ultradian gene oscillations translate into functional patterns in systemic immunity
Unlike local plant immunity, where extensive studies established a hierarchical structure of its members and uncovered the synergistic and compensatory relationships in the hormone signaling networks driving its dynamics, systemic immunity and its regulatory mechanisms regulation are still a black box. It has long been known that systemic acquired resistance (SAR) in plants is dependent on redox-mediated reduction and subsequent nuclear localization of the master immune regulator NPR1, which has been shown by treating the plants with the corresponding defense hormone salicylic acid or its analogues.
