Research on the Performance and Optimization Strategies of Underwater Wireless Optical Communication System under Microbubble Channel
Micron-sized bubble swarms are most widely distributed in the ocean, and exist in underwater wireless optical communication (UWOC) links for a long time, interfering with beam transmission, resulting in decreased communication performance or even interruption. In this paper, micron-sized bubble groups are generated by experimental simulation, and quantified by bubble image acquisition platform. The influence of bubble group characteristics on beam transmission and Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) communication link is explored. At the same time, the effectiveness and priority of optical power compensation, large aperture receiving and diversity technology at the receiving end to alleviate the deterioration of bubble group on communication performance are designed and explored. The results show that the interference of the bubble group on the beam transmission can cause a communication error rate exceeding the Forward Error Correction (FEC) threshold. The large aperture lens receiving and Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) technology at the receiving end can significantly improve the communication performance. When used alone, the former priority is higher than the latter. The combination of the two can achieve progress and improve communication performance.
