Instrument to Determine the Didactic Strategies, Technological Tools and Digital Resources Used in Teaching Practice to Promote Divergent Thinking
The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) states that in Mexico there is a strong tendency to use traditional classes within the classroom, instead of innovative and active teaching methodologies [23]. While the World Economic Forum report, carried out in May 2023, mentions that, for future jobs, the second most important skill is creative thinking. In terms of technological tools, Artificial Generative Intelligence (GAI) has currently had more relevance due to its ability to analyze large volumes of data and identify complex patterns, which allows generating valuable discoveries by streamlining and improving the research processes of any field, among them, the educational field [3]. In this way, the sum of the variables: teaching practice, creativity and technological tools, gave rise to a thesis research project, for which it was necessary to create instruments, among them, the Inventory of Didactic Strategies, Technological Tools and Digital Resources (IEHR) to learn about the promotion of divergent thinking from teaching practice. This instrument was created through triangulation of sources: 1) Information provided by the IAG, 2) Literature review and 3) Operationalization of the Divergent thoughts and actions dimension; all this based on the objective: to design an inventory to determine the didactic strategies, technological tools and digital resources that teachers use to encourage divergent thinking in their students based on teaching practice in higher education. As a result, the IEHR instrument was designed, made up of 16 didactic strategies, 36 technological tools and 10 digital resources, which investigate the frequency with which they are used by teachers during their teaching practice. The technological tools and digital resources detected through IEHR could help teachers identify opportunities for improvement and guide the planning of teaching strategies focused on promoting divergent thinking.
