Complex Thinking through Social Entrepreneurship in Students of a Public University
Complex thinking in university students is essential to form competent citizens who can face the situations that society is currently experiencing. It is necessary to implement social entrepreneurship strategies that integrate economic, social and environmental considerations in all their activities. This quasi-experimental quantitative study is conducted with the objective of implementing strategies and intervention activities on social entrepreneurship that evaluate and contribute to the complex thinking of students at a public university in the state of Veracruz. The sample is made up of 47 students distributed in three groups: pilot, control and experimental. The first is made up of 17 students, the control group is made up of 12 students and the experimental group is made up of 18 students. The results obtained show an advance in favor of the experimental group in the development of complex thinking and its sub-competencies: systemic thinking (Xpos-ex=2.22, Xpos-c=1.69 with a p-value<.05), scientific thinking (Xpos-e=2.48, Xpos-c=1.78 with a p-value<.05), critical thinking (Xpos-ex=2.61, Xpos-c=2.12 with a p-value<.05) and innovative thinking (Xpos-e=2.5222, Xpos-c=2.0333 with a p-value<.05). These findings underline the effectiveness of the implemented strategies and the importance of promoting complex thinking with social entrepreneurship in university students for their integral development and their ability to face contemporary challenges.
