Addressing ERP Adoption and Implementation Challenges for Sustainable Manufacturing in Sri Lanka: Aligning with Industry 5.0

Sri Lanka is in the Industry 4.0 industrial revolution which focuses on automation. However, with the global shift towards Industry 5.0, which emphasizes human centricity, resilience, and sustainability, Sri Lankan organizations are striving to align with these principles to achieve their strategic objectives. ERP systems play a crucial role in Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Supply Chain Management (SCM), and Human Resource Management (HRM). These systems are integrating emerging technologies, green concepts, and customization to meet evolving demands and support mobile accessibility. However, ERP implementation in Sri Lanka faces significant challenges, including integration complexities, resistance to change, and financial constraints, which restrict successful adoption. To address these issues, it is essential to identify critical success factors and implement efficient strategies. This Systematic Literature Review (SLR) contains ERP implementation challenges in Sri Lanka, key success factors, and the role of ERP systems in enhancing sustainable manufacturing with the Industry 5.0 framework, while also identifying research gaps and future directions for improving ERP adoption.
