Molecular docking, antibacterial studies, and synthesis of Ruthenium (III) complexes modified with benzoic acid (4-nitro-benzylidiene)-hydrazide and furan-2-ylmethylene-hydrazide
This study emphasises advancements in the formulation of ruthenium (III) complexes using benzhydrazide derivatives as prospective medicinal therapeutics. Two ligands benzoic acid (4-nitro-benzylidiene)-hydrazide (L1), benzoic acid furan-2-ylmethylene-hydrazide (L2) and their Ruthenium (III) complexes, have been successfully synthesized and characterized using Fourier-transform infra-red spectroscopy (FTIR), proton nuclear magnetic resonance ( 1 H NMR), UV/Vis absorption, and liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS). The synthesized components were assed for their antibacterial activities using gram positive (Staphylococcus aureus) and gram negative (Escherichia coli) strains. The outcomes of the study exhibited that the ruthenium complexes showed more effectiveness than pure ligands. The molecular docking experiments were conducted to predict Ligands binding capacity. The results showed that L2 has good binding affinity (-6.72 kcal/mol).
