Violencia simbólica en la escuela: testimonios históricos orales en una comunidad maya
This article results from a case study of basic education in the Maya community of Canicab, Yucatan. The objective was to identify the main forms of symbolic violence historically perpetuated in the town through basic education. The main theoretical basis is the social reproduction theory of Bourdieu and Passeron. Oral histories from people of different ages were collected to identify the main forms of symbolic violence. These people suffered the changes in school through different educational reforms operated by the Mexican State from 1946 to 2013.
