Abstract 1916 Analyzing Bacillus safensis malate dehydrogenase (MDH) properties and exploring its role in bioremediation potential
Due to increased industrialization, environmental contamination is becoming a priority concern around the world. One especially harmful industrial contaminant is the heavy metal chromium (VI) (Cr(VI)), which has a variety of adverse effects on human health. Therefore, finding a solution to cleaning an environment of Cr (VI) has become a primary focus for environmental research. Bacillus safensis (B. safensis) is a bacterium that has been observed to resist Cr (VI) as well as reduce it to a safer form, Cr (III).
