Abstract 1626 Single Molecule Exonuclease Kinetics of the T4 Phage Mre11/Rad50 Complex

Double-stranded DNA breaks are a severe type of DNA damage that can result in genetic abnormalities and cell death if not properly repaired. The Mre11/Rad50 (MR) complex serves as an initial responder to double-stranded breaks and is conserved across all domains of life. Rad50, a component of the MR complex, possesses ATPase activity that provides energy for the nuclease activities of Mre11. Although the ATPase and exonuclease kinetics of the MR complex have been investigated in various organisms, there is still a lack of understanding regarding the diversity of kinetic rates at the single-molecule level.
