Abstract 2415 Tuning a light-regulated allosteric switch for enhanced temporal control of enzymes
Optogenetics is a rapidly expanding field with implementation of photosensitive domains to facilitate the regulation of protein localization, interactions and activation. The key desired properties for new tools include broad applicability, tight light-regulated control with good dynamic range of regulation, and tunability of the tool that facilitates application for different tasks. Previously, we described an optogenetic approach that utilizes an engineered LightR allosteric switch module to achieve tight spatiotemporal control of enzymatic activity.
