Abstract 2364 Understanding and engineering a glycyl radical enzyme for biotechnological applications
Alkanes, aside from serving as the major feedstock of the chemical industry, are also major constituents of natural gas and crude oil. The efficient and selective activation of C–H bonds within these alkanes can be not only utilized as a tool for bioremediation but also serve as a method to convert low-cost hydrocarbon feedstocks into value-added products. Direct alkane C–H activation strategies face two major challenges: poor selectivity due to the abundance of similar C–H bonds and the chemical inertness of these C–H bonds.
