Abstract 2136 Identification and characterization of molecular interactions between Lysine Specific Demethylase 1 (LSD1) and EWS-FLI1
Ewing Sarcoma (ES), the second most common reported pediatric bone cancer, develops to form an aggressive tumor with a high risk of metastases. Genetically, ES is characterized by a chromosomal translocation between FET and ETS family gene and the dominant translocation is (11;22) (q24;q12), which codes for the transcription factor onco-fusion protein EWS-FLI1. Previous studies have found that in ES tumor cells, the lysine specific histone demethylase 1 (LSD1) is overexpressed and localizes in the nucleus.
