Abstract 1576 Purinergic Receptors Role in HIV Infection
Human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) infection is a chronic disease that targets CD4 T killing their cells causing a weakening of the immune system. It is known that purinergic receptors play a significant role in the different inflammation pathways related to HIV-1. Their inhibitors have shown that they limit HIV activity, indicating that for HIV to enter a cell, certain receptors must be present for it to act. We observed the role of P2X1, P2X4 and P2X7 in making a guide RNA so CRISPR Cas9 can delete the purinergic receptors.
