Análise Antropológica sobre a Religião Espírita em Jaguarão
The present research aimed to investigate and describe Spiritism in Jaguarão based on the accounts of Luís Francisco Nunes Acosta, a local author who wrote the book The History of Spiritism: From Lyon to Jaguarão, covering the period from 1917 to 2012. The study sought to understand the origins of Spiritism in the municipality and the world, explore the associated beliefs, and analyze the ethics employed in Spiritist practices based on this author's accounts. The research was conducted as a case study and adopted a qualitative approach, valuing the natural environment as a direct source of data, with a descriptive character and an inductive focus. The data collection process included semi-structured interviews and a bibliographic review of the topic. To achieve the objectives, the following procedures were carried out: recognition reading for author selection, exploratory reading to identify relevant texts, selective reading to filter the most important ones, reflective reading in search of answers to the objectives, and interpretive reading, relating the results to the reflections of the studied authors. Keywords: Spiritism. Case study. Jaguarão. Qualitative research.
