Abstract 2250 Extracellular matrix components as predictors of response to anti-PD-1 immune checkpoint inhibitors in solid tumors
Background. The extracellular matrix (ECM) plays a crucial role in cancer progression by influencing tumor growth, metastasis, and immune responses. Key ECM components, such as matrix metalloproteinases and glycosylation enzymes, have been associated with immune evasion and therapy resistance. Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) have revolutionized cancer treatment, but because of the high rate of therapy resistance there is an urgent need for identifying reliable biomarkers. Investigating the relationship between ECM elements in ICI-treated patients can uncover potential biomarkers for guiding immunotherapy strategies.
