Abstract 1705 Characterizing the relationship between histone demethylases ELF6 and REF6 and the chromatin remodeler PKL in H3K27me3 homeostasis
Regulation of gene expression is essential for the growth, development, and differentiation of eukaryotic organisms and is dependent on modifications of chromatin, a nucleoprotein complex made up of DNA wrapped around histone proteins. One of these modifications, often referred to as epigenetic marks, is H3K27me3, which represses the expression of genes associated with growth and development. Homeostasis of this mark has been previously associated with the ATP-dependent chromatin remodeler PICKLE (PKL).
