Abstract 1820 Epigenetic Editing with CRISPR to Advance Cancer Immunotherapy
Over the past decade, cancer immunotherapies that harness a patient's immune system to combat tumors have emerged as a promising treatment for cancer. In this approach, key players of the immune system such as T cells can be isolated from patients to specifically recognize tumor-expressing antigens and target cancer cells. The advent of CRISPR-based genome editing technologies has further enhanced these therapies, with CRISPR/Cas9 being used to disrupt genes associated with T cell exhaustion and diminished persistence in the tumor microenvironment.
