Abstract 2746 mRNA stabilization by chemical modifications in drug-resistant glioblastoma
RNA modification represents a critical mechanism of gene expression regulation, controlling RNA processing, stability, and function. Recent years have yielded many insights into the molecular mechanism by which N6-methyladenosine (m6A) regulates mRNA decay, and the roles for m6A-mediated regulation of gene expression are increasingly being described in a wide variety of cancers. However despite this rapid progress, multiple studies focused on a single modification in a single cancer type still often yield conflicting conclusions as to whether the modification is functionally oncogenic or tumor suppressive.
