Abstract 2238 CNTNAP2 hypermethylation in colorectal adenocarcinoma
Introduction. The cell adhesion molecules encoding Contactin Associated Protein 2 (CNTNAP2) is a gene primarily expressed in the tissues of the central neural system, implicated in developmental disorders and recognized as a tumor suppressor gene in multiple neoplastic diseases. Aberrant methylation is a common feature of colorectal adenocarcinoma (CRC) tissues. Genome-wide methylation analysis of large cohorts facilitates the identification of novel biomarkers and a better understanding of cancer biology.
