Abstract 2926 LncRNA modulation of inflammation, macrophage activation, and metabolism in humans
Noncoding RNAs are emerging players in gene regulation, cell signaling, and human diseases. Recently we discovered a series of novel human long noncoding RNA (lncRNA, termed as hLinfRNAs - human long noncoding inflammation associated RNA) that play key roles in cytokine expression and inflammatory response in macrophages. Knockdown of selected hLinfRNA (e.g hLinfRNA1, hLinfRNA7) downregulated inflammation induced cytokine expression and macrophage activation. hLinfRNAs expression may be regulated via NF-kB signaling and/or JAK/STAT signaling.
