Abstract 2192 Evaluating the roles of Rho family GTPases in basophilic KU812 cell degranulation
Type I hypersensitivities, including severe allergies and anaphylaxis, affect approximately 3–5% of the global population, with children and young adults experiencing significant morbidity and mortality. These hypersensitivities are driven by IgE-mediated degranulation, histamine release, and the inflammatory cascade initiated by basophils and mast cells. Understanding the molecular events that trigger degranulation is therefore critical for developing strategies to inhibit severe allergic reactions.
