Abstract 2431 Structure of Xyloglucan Xylosyltransferase Heterodimer Reveals the Involvement of Stem Region in in vivo Heterodimer Recruitment
The hemicellulose xyloglucan is a complex polysaccharide found within the cell walls of most plants. Xyloglucan plays a pivotal role in plant cellular elongation, stress responses, and is also an important dietary component in many foods and has been investigated as a natural medicinal compound to promote healing of open wounds. The glycan composition of xyloglucan varies between species and tissues, but all share the same β(1-4)-glucan backbone with different patterns of α(1-2) xylosylation of the glucan.
