Abstract 3000 Enhancing Graduate Student Mentorship Training
Mentorship is essential for transforming undergraduate research into a high-impact practice. However, formal mentorship training for graduate students mentoring undergraduate researchers remains limited. To bridge this gap, the Future Mentors (FM) program was established at the John Martinson Honors College at Purdue University, enhancing student access to high-quality mentored research experiences in STEM. The FM program employs a comprehensive mentorship model, integrating a structured training course with a guided community of practice to equip graduate students with evidence-based strategies for effective mentoring across diverse backgrounds.
