Abstract 1498 Regulation of DNA damage response by protein myristoylation
The DNA damage response (DDR) is essential for maintaining genomic integrity and governing the resistance of cancer cells to chemo/radiotherapy. While well-studied post-translational modifications such as phosphorylation, acetylation, ubiquitylation, and SUMOylation are critical in DDR coordination, the role of protein myristoylation, which is the addition of a 14-carbon myristic acid to glycine and lysine catalyzed by N-myristoyl transferase (NMT) 1 and 2, remains underexplored. This study elucidates the role of protein myristoylation regulated by NMT1 and NMT2 on DDR regulation.
