Abstract 2091 Antiproliferative effects of baclofen on lung adenocarcinoma
Roles of γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA) and the GABA receptor type B (GABBR) are reported with controversial among different types of cancer, both pro- and anti-tumorigenic. From the TCGA database, GABBR expressions were down-regulated in lung adenocarcinoma compared with normal lung tissues, suggesting the anti-tumor roles of GABA and its receptors in this cancer. The anti-tumor effects of the GABA analog are then hypothesized, and thus repurposing GABA analogs for lung cancer treatment might be promising.
